Strange Culprits Just Released Their First Self Titled Garage/Progressive Album

The Bay Area group known as “Strange Culprits” just released their first self-titled album, a collection of American rock, classic soul, garage band tracks. Listening through this album, there is a sense of soul and communion given off from the three members, Jason Buckingham (vocals and guitar), Samantha Buckingham (bass), and Tony Loftin (drums).

This album has a little something for everyone, with tinges of soul, and an overlapping prog rock theme. There is a feeling of emotion and adventure, accompanied by the well-portrayed storytelling of the vocalist. Every track in this album has a distinct feeling that fits perfectly into the overall theme of the collection.

The album art seen at the top is a black and white sketch of a dock admiring a guitar amp up close, with a chord coming out of the amp that leads out of frame, leaving the viewer curious to dive into the album and see where that cord leads.

The Culprits are similar to popular groups such as Wilco, The Record Company, My Morning Jacket, Alabama Shakes, and The Decemberists. Stay tuned to hear more from them soon!
