Sullivan King has finally released his much-anticipated EP, The Demented! With fans begging for this release to come, it definitely received nothing but praise as soon as it dropped.
Sullivan King is a Los Angeles based musician known for his amazing ability to not only produce his own vocals, but create the majority of his music with authentic instruments. Working with labels Monstercat as well as Kannibalen Records, King is definitely an artist of many talents.
The first of four songs on the EP, also titled, The Demented, gives listeners a look into the very popular up and coming electronic genre, new beat. Providing traditional rock vocals, the song quickly transitions into a bass heavy drop with the second drop giving a similar feel. Just when you think the song is over, Sullivan abruptly transitions into an intense guitar and drum solo to finish the song off.
The second song on the EP, Lie, starts off with similar heavy rock vocals. The first drop carries a like vibe to ‘The demented’ however, this song is more vocal focused. All three drops in this song are relatively the same which gives listeners a chance to pay attention to the lyrics being expressed.
The third song is definitely in place to keep listeners engaged. Titled ‘Show Stopper,’ this track not only provides us with traditional dubstep, it is also hype from the moment it begins. Providing a constant energetic backbeat as well as lots of quick transitions, this song will for sure keep you on your toes.
Finally, the EP closes out with an acoustic track titled ‘Don’t care (unplugged).’ With King playing the guitar as well as singing, we are given a very relaxed vibe and a track where Sullivan cannot only express himself but also showcase his many talents.
