Sus Will Melt Your Heart With New Single, “Butter”

You’re going to need to cool off after you listen to the hot new single from Sus, “Butter.” The song blends Jesse’s smooth and sultry cadence with the creamy, heart-melting vocals from keys player extraordinaire, Matty G, creating one steamy and romantic ballad.

The five-piece hip-hop-soul band has proven themselves a force to be reckoned with. Since their debut EP See U Soon, Sus has played many sold-out shows all around the Northwest. Even after having a change in bass players at the top of the year, the band hasn’t skipped a beat and their new single, “Butter,” prooves that.

Everything about this track is magical. The way that Taylor’s guitar work whisks you away to a musical honeymoon on the beach where waves of chords flow over your eardrums. How Amanda and Andy take the rhythm section and turn it into an audible heartbeat that melts fluidly into the backdrop.

Shout out to the uber-talented engineer, Seth McDonald, who recorded and mixed this song, allowing me to hear those tiny little details. As well, a major shout out to Adam Straney, the mastering magician who could probably engineer something with his eyes closed and ears plugged. As talented as Sus is, to begin with, the final product wouldn’t be the same without these two men behind the boards.
