Takashi Murakami & Virgil Abloh Present: ‘Future History’ Exhibit

If you recall the last Takashi Murakami article, he was bringing his latest exhibit: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg to Vancouver, Canada for a limited time. This exhibit runs from February 3rd to May 6th. In his latest venture, he collaborated with Off White’s™ very own, Virgil Abloh. The two linked up to create the Future History exhibit, which is open now until April 7 in London, England.

Any avid art fan realizes the importance of this collaboration. While the “fuckboy’s” in the forum comments hate on the “basic” and “uncreative” pieces that the two have put together, simplicity always wins. What we’re seeing is a brand running and fashion individual, whom DJ’s on the side coming together with one of the best living contemporary artists.

It’s truly an iconic collaboration and we’re witnessing history, agree or disagree. In the exhibit, you can expect to see some familiar bits of work that each artist brings to the table. From the X’s and ” WORDS ” to the smiling flowers and skulls, the two managed to compliment each other effortlessly.

Murakami and Virgil also offered an exclusive merchandise that was limited to 400 pieces. The two collaborated on screen printed t-shirts that can be seen at the top of the page being held by the two. Those same shirts are currently being resold online for over $700.

With all that said, make sure to head over to the Gagosian website for more details and keep up with the artists on instagram: @VirgilAbloh & @TakashiMurakami for more.
