When you think about Texas hip-hop you immediately think about Chopped and Screwed music. But, the new wave of Texas hip-hop is anything but that. From El Paso to Orange, Texas Hip Hop is filled with some of the most versatile artists in the south. There are a lot of Texas artists out here grinding harder than ever that you should know about.

There isn’t much of a platform for Texas artists in the major music cities yet but they’re still figuring out a way to get their music and brands out there. From paying for opening slots on a 15-opener act to creating their own clothing brand to fund their projects most of these artists in Texas are self-made. Here are a few artists that have been making some major moves in 2018!

MDuke grew up in the church with his mother singing in the choir and his brother Gregory Daniels (Drummer for Brian McKnight) playing the drums in San Antonio. The dude’s been surrounded and influenced by music his entire life. He recently made the move out to Los Angeles after signing with BDS Management. Since then he’s been working non stop and dropping some of the hottestย music videos in the city! If you haven’t already check him out!

Tobe Nwigwe

Tobe has been silently killing the game for years now. While being one of the top rising artists out of Houston, he also stays involved in his community by focusing to bring opportunities to the youth that he didn’t get to experience. He’s currently setting up a college tour that you can visit his website and apply for a chance to bring him to a university near you.

Dallas rapper T.Y.E based out of Oak Cliff has been making a huge name for himself in the state this past year. Killing the game with his storytelling style heโ€™s been approaching the game from a different perspective. By being open about his personal life he is definitely a role model to the new depressed.

Do you think these artists are fire? Let me know in the comments!
