TeZATalks Breaks The Mold And Finds Herself In “Apart To Chaos”

TeZATalks continues to evolve and find herself as she breaks the mold of her own identity on “Apart To Chaos.” This piece of art comes on the heels of several new singles to start 2019. The incredibly sexy “4th Season” produced by Qreepz is the most recent. It provides a great story and infectious melodies, as did the other singles. These songs were distinctly different from the larger and very gritty works of the Chaos series. The singles were also essentially the first we had heard from her since series of releases around her debut EP, the original “Chaos.”

Keeping Pace With TeZATalks

Don’t let the short absence fool you though, this young woman has been working relentlessly behind the scenes. While still creating hand in hand with “Chaos” producer Steven Trueba she has also expanded her team. Squaded up, she is driven to lead her team to the next level. Along with all this content TeZATalks has also spent 2019 on a performance spree.

I personally bore witness to the first of those performances at Seattle World Tour. At that show she gave the type of performance you could easily envision growing into the type of production seen on the Coachella main stage. More recently she rocked Capitol Hill Block Party as a lead up to last week’s release. She described the experience as “absolutely life changing.”

Apart To Chaos Is Just The Beginning

On “Apart To Chaos” we get the completion this emotional story of love, heartbreak, self realization, and ultimately triumph of her individual artistic spirit that began with it’s predecessor. It’s raw, it’s rock and roll, is electronic, it’s alternative, it’s the official take off point of her rise to the upper echelon of this next generation’s great artists.

I wanted to say she sounds like the musical love child of Trent Reznor and Amy Lee. I also wanted to say her brand kind of reminds of Billie Eilish with is dramatic imagery and raw self expression. Then I realized that any comparison can really only describe one part of her. There are too many elements to her style to pin point them all, just as the same can be said for the artists I listed. She has really made her own lane in various ways. For example, her @tezascloset visual art that she creates digitally or on canvass, depending on the project.

TeZATalks And Steven Trueba Are A Dynamic Duo

The sounds Trueba uses are a cutting edge blend of elements from multiple genres. Ranging from experimental sound design to unique use of traditional pop sounds. Then TeZATalks gives you everything. She sings, screams, she raps, and every other word you could use to describe a vocal expression musically.

This sound is new and grimy. I believe it represents what will be a core piece of the new wave of alternative music that’s going to emerge from the Northwest. TeZA and Steven Trueba, who is a feature artist himself (Alter.), are a part of something big happening in the city. They are accompanied by acts such as Marshall Law Band, Gypsy Temple, Tres Leches, and several others that will become this second wave of Seattle alternative music to take the world by storm.

This new wave will have angst and it will have rock and roll, just as you’d expect. There will also be an infusion of EDM and Hip-Hop as the scene and culture has evolved with the times. We will see several artists who will serve as voices of a generation, they will embody the spirit of youth and coming change just as the greats before them. I firmly believe you will see both TeZATalks and Alter. in the forefront of this movement. Needless to say I recommend this project make your playlist immediately. Before you listen, I invite you to read below and get to know TeZATalks more personally with some of her replies to my inquiries in preparation for this article.

Interview Excerpts

Explain the premise of the original chaos EP and a little of what was behind experience was like creating it?

The Chaos EP was the first volume of my story. The records reflect the experiences I struggled, conquered, loved, failed, lost, and found myself in and through. Steven Trueba and I wrote the Chaos EP in hood river, Oregon, which served as a meditative  and healing ground for the abuse and addiction I was coming to terms with personally and spiritually. The writing for the Chaos e.p was a lot more fluid and unconscious in its intent. Steven Trueba and I know each other quite well, so it was a blessing that we could just effortlessly inspire and create to bring the records to life.

How does Apart to Chaos complete that chapter of your life and artistry?

When we sat down to create this e.p we knew we had evolved as artists and producers but we still wanted to give the fans and future listeners what they initially fell in love with, and thats the raw and unapologetic records that got us here. However, Apart too Chaos is a farewell to the darkness in my personal life and my artistry. This doesn’t mean Its unicorn and rainbows but I do believe the Light that I  have found within myself. The darkness is what truly has connected me and the music to so many people from around the world. I want people to really pay attention to what Im saying in these records. Its my truth and I hope by sharing they will realize the Light within themselves. I want them to have the courage to live on and out of their own darkness.

Explain as best you can the vision you have for the future of TezaTalks the brand?

TeZATalks is the narrator I have created within myself, to give a voice to what I have experienced in reference to pain, depression, abuse, mental health, spirituality, and fear.

The brand hopefully is always growing to become a better representation of all of these things we all struggle with. What I can share is that TeZATalks (me) is undeniably expressive in all that is artistic and beautiful. This past year has been about connecting to as many fans and people as possible. By taking on the right shows and creating safe spaces for love to be unconditionally accepted in. With the help of so many people in the community such as RMR Team, All Star Opera, Seth Mcdonald, Austin Santiago, Seattle Lunch Table, Sean Majors, Upper left family, Evan Johnson, My Team and other gifted Artist I have been able to achieve more than I have expected. I have BIG PLANS for myself the music, and all of you who continuously keep giving me  support!

Do you have visuals lined up to accompany the EP?

Glass Creek an impeccable production company out of LA founded by Director/Cinematographer Austin Smagalski shot a Music Video for Villains. It is scheduled to be released soon.

Chase Fade, a gifted videographer here in Seattle has something coming too. He shot for one of my favorite records off the EP, called Panic Attack.

As far as the rest, you’ll just have to wait and see!

What was your experience like with CHBP?

CHBP was absolutely life changing! Honestly, I never really know how people will respond to me or the music. I just try to set my intentions to cultivate love and acceptance and the rest is up to energy that is met in the room. I cried, I danced, I laughed, I loved, and mother fucking lived on The Wild Rose Stage.

The best part is I get to do it with my friends the talented Qreepz aka Murcii Miller who is a true hero to the city and Braidon, my choreographer who has helped me not only move my body but my soul in ways I will always be grateful for. CHBP was about gratitude and the power in being myself. I may have started my performance in a room with few friends and mostly strangers, but I left with a family. the best part for sure was staying after and hugging SO many people. Ill never forget that, ever.

Are you gearing up for tour?

Dude, it is my dream! I can’t do it alone so Ive started a Go Fund Me and I’m actively seeking opportunities to hop on a tour or find investments to get to other fans out of state.

You can donate here if you want me in your city: https://www.gofundme.com/f/tezatalks-debut-album-amp-mini-tour
