Selene Vigil

Washington Native Selene Vigil Releases New LP, "Tough Dance"

Selene Vigil was rocking out in Seattle before I was born. She was the lead singer of a punk band “7 Year Bitch.” The band featured all female members and split up in 1997 after a member tragically died, per Wikipedia. Vigil went solo afterwards, and has released numerous singles, EP’s and albums. Her newest release, Tough Dance is out today. Vigil has been a voice in Seattle’s punk scene for over twenty-five years and her voice is still going strong.

“Tough Dance is lyrically driven with a blend of slick grunge, and was co-written with Ben London (Alcohol Funnycar, STAG.) The album features heavy-weights Ryan Leyva (Brent Amaker & the Rodeo, Full Toilet) producing and on the guitar, Drew Church (Mark Lanegan, Jeremy Enigk) on the bass, and Davey Brozowski (Modest Mouse, Broken Bells) on the drums.”
