So many great albums have been dropping in the Northwest these last few weeks! Everywhere I look it seems like someone has something fresh to give. Last week TxE released their new record “We Get It In True”, and already the release has had a great reception from fans and fellow musicians alike, and anyone who’s heard a few tracks can see why! This album is a perfect blend of beats by Calvin Valentine and raps by Tope and Epp. The group has also done a great job of including diverse talent, featuring artists Phil Agony, Illmaculate, Young X, Caitlin Cardier, and Sam Trump on this project. The album is fantastic. Every song is unique and well done, and the beats Calvin Valentine has come up with here are smooth, original and compliment Tope and Epp’s styles individually. On my first listen through, the track that really stood out to me was “Varsity”. Right in the middle of the album, this track has a bit of a different vibe than the rest of the songs that are included. The beat is a little faster paced and edgy. Judging by a first impression, I’d describe every track on this album as being personal and honest, which is something I believe every musician should strive for.
