Trap fans, you’re in for a real treat. And for dubstep, house, trance fans and fans of other genres, listen up, take notes, and buckle in for a ride of a lifetime. May 11th marks a milestone in electronic music history as the well-known trap producer, UZ, releases his Rebirth LP.
This EP has a lot of heat, and plenty of talent with collaborative artists, but that’s not the only thing special about the release. This is the first release following his branding redesign, the first ever since the inception of UZ. This album is also the start of the ‘Rebirth’ tour, making stops all over the world, alongside brand new visuals, guaranteed to make whoever attends burst into flames.
Here’s the rundown of the most notable tracks on this LP.
Mad
An excellent choice as an opening track for the LP, and reflective of the history of UZ himself, it crescendos from almost nothing gradually into something magnificent and beautiful. It’s reminiscent of the sounds you’ve come to know from the notorious trap producer, but with a new twist and flow. This track’s droning vocals helps leave a lot to the listeners’ imaginations.
Futon
Unlike the abilities of the object mentioned in the title, this track ‘does not pull out’ any stops. This is UZ as you know him. Wacky basslines, flute samples, and snare rolls roaming around your head. Yet it’s different than anything you’ve heard from him.
Flash (Feat. Bok Nero)
Bok Nero, in the top 5 greatest rappers to ever frequent electronic music. Now here with the greatest trap producer in history. With Bok Nero’s hard and fast flow in this track, the name “Flash” is appropriate as a title. Definitely a solid “go hard” track on this EP.
Click (Feat. Macntaj)
Now we come to what is going to be the Pacific Northwest’s favorite track on ‘The Rebirth’ LP. Macntaj and UZ team up to take down Click, a heavy rap influenced track with the touch of trap heat with the drops and buildups. Everything Macntaj touches hits a higher level than anyone else, and this track is no different.
