Growing up in South Florida, right down the road from Kodak Black, Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy also known as XXXTentacion, has made quite the impact on popular culture so far. With a couple of indescribable years behind him, things began to take off when he was featured on the cover of XXL’s 2017 Freshman Class.
More recently, he has been lucky enough to survive a few different fights during some of his live performances, and at one point, announced that he was quitting rap, but that only lasted a couple days. At another time, he got an incredible co-sign by Kendrick Lamar on his last album 17, after Lamar said,“listen to this album if you feel anything. raw thoughts.” and “5th listen” while showing the album cover on his twitter feed. XXXTentacion survived a few Instagram ‘beef’ situations with other artists in the industry and even managed to slip out of jail time a hair earlier than he was sentenced for. Meanwhile, focusing on his new album, ‘?‘ he takes an interesting approach on it. Just like on the last one, throughout it he takes you to both sides of the genre spectrum. One song might be one of the calmest, moodiest song you’ve ever heard in your life and the next song might make you want to dance in a extremely violent manner.
With features on the album from Joey Bada$$, Travis Barker and PnB Rock, XXXTentacion managed to put together a sound album. This isn’t the first time he’s put together something enjoyable and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Check it out below and let us know what you think!
