Taylar Elizza Beth has blossomed onto the scene as a fresh face in Seattle hip-hop. Her smokey voice whirls with the beat, lingering in your ears long after her vocals drop out. In her new EP Fresh Cut Flowers, Taylar brews up a storm. Her raspy, almost whisper of a voice creates a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere for this five track bouquet.

I went to her EP release party at the Timbre Room with DoNormaal, and Guayaba. It took place on a Tuesday night so I thought that it might be kind of a low-key. I assumed wrong, that venue was packed front to back with an enthusiastic crowd. Taylar could hardly get a word in between songs with all the cheering from the crowd.
Her next show will be a free all-ages night at W Seattle Hotel on June 30th. The 21-year-olds will have a chance to see her as well with Aaron Cohen on July 13th at Barboza. You can purchase tickets for that one at Barboza.com.
