This week RMR is continuing our new series Local Music Wednesday. Where we are discussing artists in the Seattle area that we have been following. These local rappers are consistently releasing music and playing shows in the Seattle area. Whether you are looking for new local music to listen to, or you want to go to more local concerts this summer, we have you covered!

For this week’s Local Music Wednesday, we have a long list of great artists. This includes Kid Cambo, Livio, TBG, Zay Wonder and more.

Kid Cambo

Okay, to start us off Kid Cambo is a local artist who has been doing some sick things. He’s been releasing some fire tracks on streaming services consistently since 2019. Kid Cambo is a Seattle rapper of Cambodian and Black heritage. He makes melodic, whitty music with some high energy beats that are sure to catch your ears. Collaboration is very important to him and he has released tracks with KGodd and Marshall Law band. He has also ventured outside of Washington to collaborate with several producers throughout his career. His most recent release is his single, “All Eyes On Me”. The song includes some great synths and sound effects, lyrically it talks about the pressure he feels being an up and coming artist. Overall, he is definitely worth checking out.

Livio

Another local artist who has been killing the game recently is Livio. He has been making a name for himself recently in the area, with over 10k followers on instagram. His most popular track “Gangster and a Gentleman (feat. A-Wax),” is absolute fire. The production includes a nylon string guitar on top of a classic hip hop 808 beat. His voice has a unique tone, using the perfect amount of effects as well as ad libs. Both rappers kill it on this track, with clever lyrics and catchy hooks. Livio has definitely created a lane for himself in the scene and we are definitely going to be hearing a lot more from him.

Rxzay Rxse

Next on our list are local artist Rxzay Rxse who has been in our ears recently as well. He has so far released two songs Spotify, “Ryder” and his most recent single “Blind”. “Blind has some great production with a heavy beat as well as a great electric guitar sample. “Ryder” is in a similar vein production wise, he clearly has a distinct sound. Rxzay Rxse also went on tour across the U.S. this summer as support for Lewie. He is definitely going to be playing more shows soon, so stay tuned!

TBG

Continuing on, Local artists Sheed Be, Kam and Scoob, are currently working together in a group The Bad Guys (TBG). They have teamed up in order to take music more seriously and it is definitely working for them. As friends, the group has truly been able to find a voice for themselves stating they, “make music together because they are close they aren’t close because they make music together,” which is definitely the way to do it. They are all unique artists and writers as individuals, but when they come together it takes their artistry to the next level. What they are doing has been working with one of their songs reaching over 90k streams. They recently released a music video for their song “Potential”. The song itself is incredible, each rapper has their own moment, as they are all absolutely spitting. The music video has a great summer vibe and it is definitely worth checking out.

Zay Wonder

Zay Wonder has also been making a name for himself in the local scene recently. He has been releasing music since 2016 and has continued to improve ever since. Also a professional basketball player, Zay is characterized by his smooth tone and is a great story teller. His production includes a lot of great 808 beats and loops. One of his standout tracks “GREEN FACE PREZI” is full of great loops and a high-hat driven beat. He is overall an incredible rapper!

All-Pro-Go

All-Pro-Go has also been killing the game recently. Although he started working on music in 2020, he has already been making a name for himself in the local scene. In the past year, he has released 3 projects and played over 30 shows. He has opened for various artists including Mozzy, Bfb Da Packman, Sauce Walka, Capalow 304 and many more. His song “Wok on Water”has been getting a lot of attention recently and his rapping on the track is absolutely incredible.

Jody Cash

Jody Cash has also been delivering some fire music recently. His 2022 project is titled “Blase” and it includes 7 great, well crafted songs. My favorite off of this record is “SHE SAY” the song has some great melodies and hooks. The song also has some great ad libs and a solid piano accompaniment throughout.

Lewie

Lewie is another really cool artist who is well-known in the Northwest rap scene. Although this is typically a Seattle list, we have to include Lewie whenever we get a chance. A native to Tacoma, Lewie is described as a “melodic punch-line artist”. His most streamed song so far is “Stay Down,” the song includes a great guitar loop and beat, as well as some incredible bars. The song also showcases Lewie’s melodic prowess, with a great hook that suits his voice perfectly. He has many shows coming up so be sure to tap in.

SouthendSiva

Another artist that we’ve been bumping over here at RMR is SouthendSiva. He recently released a music video for his song, “FLOAT ON,” the song features JUST RELAX and the video was shot by KCOYI. “FLOAT ON,” is another great melodic song and the video is super creative with some great green screen work.

Lil Boof

Lastly, to round out this week’s episode we have rapper Lil Boof. Boof has been getting lots of attention off of his music, with his track “Shake the Streets” racking in over 110k streams. He recently released a music video for his song called, “Rebound,” which is an awesome tune. Filled with clever lyrics and a great 808 beat, it is definitely not one to miss!
