Kentavia Miller, known as female artist KenTheMan, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter from Houston, Texas. She was born on June 8th, 1994, and is 27 years old. Her music career started when she was in high school in 2010.

KenTheMan’s first-ever song was a freestyle over Nicki Minaj’s “Chiraq” beat. Fast forward to 2015, KenTheMan released her first mix-tape called “Kenny’s Black.” Her career started to take off after dropping her single “He Be Like” in 2019. KenTheMan now has over 10 million streams across her Spotify account. She released her latest single called “I’m Perfect” in June of 2021

Jane Chika Oranika, known as CHIKA, is an American rapper and songwriter. She was born on March 9th, 1997, in Montgomery, Alabama. She started to gain a lot of recognition on social media in 2016. Then in 2018, CHIKA went viral for a freestyle address towards Kanye West over West’s own “Jesus Walks” beat. That freestyle gained recognition from different artists such as Jada Smith and Sean “Diddy” Combs. After releasing her single in 2019 called “No Squares,” CHIKA was invited to Jimmy Kimmel Live. That following summer, she signed a deal with Warner Records. In March of 2020, she released her EP. The next year, CHIKA was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist and NAACP Image Award for Outstanding New Artist.

Diamond Barmer, named Deetranda, is an American rapper and musician. She was born on June 25th, 2001, in Baltimore, Maryland. Deetranda started getting into music at a very young age and gained lots of recognition when performing at her 7th-grade talent show.

She is well-known for starring in season 3 of the Lifetime series The Rap Game and finishing in second place. The show took her career to the next level, introducing her to more opportunities within the music industry. She released her first album, “Adolescence Swim,” in 2017. By 2019 she released her second album, “DEEvsEVERYBODY!”. She has released singles and a couple of EP’s throughout the years. Currently, Deetranda has over 30,000 listeners on Spotify every month.

Dikembe Mofungo Semiratruth, known as Semiratruth, is an American rapper and producer. She is 21 years old and was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She started to get into music and poetry at a very young age; in 2014, she recorded and released her first song. Several years after that, in 2019, she rapped her way onto Netflix’s hip-hop competition Rhythm + Flow. She dropped her first album in 2021 called “Mira,” which consisted of nine songs. Her latest album, “I Got Bandz For the MoonLandin’ was released shortly after “Mira” towards the end of 2021. She has learned a lot about herself and her music over the last year, and she is going to continue to produce music to gain confidence and power

Haviah Mighty is a Canadian rapper from Toronto, Canada. Born on December 17th, 1992, she is now 29 years old. Her music career started at the age of fifteen, then took off when she was seventeen. In 2010, she independently released her first mixed tape, “No Studio.” Her first studio album, “13th Floor,” was released in 2019 and won the 2019 Polaris Music Prize. XXL named Haviah Mighty one of the “15 Toronto rappers you should know,” and CBC Music named her one of the “New Faces of Canadian HipHop.” She released her latest album, “Stock Exchange,” in 2021.

Charmaine is a rapper, singer, and songwriter born in Zimbabwe but raised in Canada. She then came to the United States when she was very young and grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. Charmaine developed a love for music around eight years old after watching her dad play on the piano every day while growing up. One day she decided to play and hasn’t looked back since.

When she was 17 years old, she started to write her music. In March of 2021, Charmaine signed to Warner Music Canada. In 2021, she released two singles, “Bold” and “Woo,” which gathered over 2 million Spotify streams. Moving forward, Charmaine wants to create an environment giving black women more opportunities within the music industry.

Alexandra Leosis, known as stage name Lex Leosis, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. She is best known for her dynamic flows, stage presence, and elaborate story-telling. Her rap career started at around 16 years old as a slam poet. Subsequently, she joined the four-member hip-hop group, The Sorority, in 2016.

During her time with The Sorority, they released one studio album called “Pledge” and multiple singles throughout their time together. After the group split up, Lex went on to further her career as a solo artist. In 2020, she dropped her album “Mythologies.” In 2021, she dropped her EP “Terracotta” and another single called “Wanted.” Lex Leosis will continue to build her career and release more music in 2022.

Simone Bridges, known by Nappy Nina, is an American rapper, singer, and producer. Raised in Oakland initially, she moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 2012. Since then, she has released four albums throughout her career. Nappy Nina released her first EP, “Naptime,” in 2015, then in 2017 released the EP, “ExtraOrdinary.” Subsequently, she released her album, The Tree Act in 2019, and Dumb Doubt in 2020. Her music has a soulful, funky, jazz-like vibe to it. She is signed under the record label LucidHaus and plans to release new music and gain a larger following in 2022.

Audrey Chu, known as AUDREY NUNA, is an R&B singer, rapper, and songwriter. She is a 22-year-old artist born and raised in New Jersey. When AUDREY NUNA was 16 years old, she received recognition from Roc Nation producer Anwar Sawyer. She started releasing music in 2018 and hasn’t stopped. She is best known for her singles “damn Right” and “Comic Sans” (featuring Jack Harlow). AUDREY NUNA is signed to Arista Records and plans to release more music in 2022. Currently, the musician receives over 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Cartel Madras is a Canadian hip-hop duo consisting of two sisters, Bhagya “Eboshi” Ramesh and Priya “Contra” Ramesh. They were born in Chennai, India, and emigrated to Calgary, Alberta when they were young. Together, the sisters began releasing songs on their SoundCloud. 

Cartel Madras characterize their music as “Goonda Rap” with hip-hop, house, electronic, punk, and South Indian influences. In 2018 they released their debut mixtape, “Project Goonda Part 1: Trapistan”. Flash forward to 2020, Cartel Madras began their first international tour in North America. Later in 2020, the duo released two singles, later named “The most underrated Canadian songs of 2020” By CBC Music. Their song “Working” has over a million streams on Spotify.
