Nurko is just one of those artists that every EDM listener should know. His sound is a soft blend of a variety of electronic genres having experimented with moombahton, dubstep, and trap. His most recent single “Better Off Lonely” Feat. RØRY is a stellar example of his ample talent.
This cut almost gives me trance feels with its synth build-up, but the drop has much more of a housey-vibe. RØRY’s voice carries the vocals perfectly by really emulating the sorrowful feel that the song has.
Last week, Nurko was one of the many EDM artists who are making a difference right now by performing a special live stream event. The ‘Alone Together’ virtual festival donated all proceeds to the Black Mental Health Alliance, To Write Love On Her Arms, and Active Minds, all of which will support mental health awareness.
COVID-19 has really taken a toll on the world’s mental health. I know that’s a generalization, but I find that social isolation goes against the sociality of human nature. So many electronic artists are using their platforms to speak on mental health issues. Earlier this month, DSV Audio released an entire compilation dedicated to suicide awareness.
Nurko grew up in a family of artists and creators so it’s not wonder his production and DJ skills have been honed down. His sound finds its way to almost every electronic genre whether it’s a ballad, a trap track, heavy dubstep, and everything in between. versatility is difficult, and Nurko has got it on lock.
Give his new track “Better Off Lonely” a listen while also remembering to be mindful of your own mental health. I know the tittle isn’t quite that, but I know I finished the song with my foot tapping in a spunky way. That’s Nurko for you!
