This week RMR is continuing our segment Hot Music Friday where we share fire music from the past week. Today, we have some great songs for you to check out!
A lot of incredible tunes were released this week across multiple genres. For this episode, we are again focusing on new hip-hop, as well as some pop-influenced tracks. Our list includes Offset, Ice Spice, GloRilla, Rico Nasty and many more!
“SAY MY GRACE (feat. Travis Scott)” – Offset
To kick things off on a strong note, Offset’s new album has been getting plenty of attention and one of the standout tracks by far is “Say My Grace.” The song is very anthemic and Travis Scott lends an incredible second verse to the tune. Lyrically, Offset raps about a variety of topics, even touching on the death of his bandmate Takeoff. It is not a song to sleep on!
“Pretty Girl” – Ice Spice & Rema
Ice Spice is continuing to cement her place in the hip-hop industry with her collaboration, “Pretty Girl” with Rema. The song has a great shuffle beat and super catchy hook from Reba. As well as heartfelt verses from Ice Spice. We are all excited to see what’s next for Ice Spice!
“From A Man”- Young Thug
This Hot Music Friday Young Thug is proving again why he is not an artist to sleep on with his new song “From A Man.” A follow up to Young Thug’s recent album Business is Business, the song once again showcases his lyrical prowess and dedication to his craft.
“No Hook 2” – Key Glock
Key Glock is also about to be in your ears this weekend with “No Hook 2,” a follow up track to “No Hook.” Glock raps over a high-hat driven trap beat and lyrically references a handful of other celebrities. Overall, it’s a super fun track.
“Chops on the Blade” – Larry June & Cardo
Larry June is one of our favorites here at Respect my Region, and for this week’s Hot Music Friday, he is back on our list with his collaboration with Cardo, “Chops on the Blade.” The beat is driven by a great piano part and both artists lend some great verses and musical moments.
“Dying”- The Drums & Rico Nasty
“Dying” shows a different more emotional side of Rico Nasty, who is known for her clever, attitude driven lyrics. In this collaboration with The Drums, she sings and raps about lost love over a much chiller beat than we are used to from her.
“HEAVEN’S GALAXY” – Kid Cudi
Another great song released this Hot Music Friday is Kid Cudi’s “HEAVEN’S GALAXY.” The song clocks in at just over six minutes, and it is worth listening to all the way through. From the mostly instrumental intro to the build, it is a great song from top to bottom.
“One of Your Girls” – Troye Sivan
To round out this Hot Music Friday with a pop-influenced track, we have Troye Sivan’s new single “One of Your Girls.” Troye Sivan’s new album is set to be one of the top albums of the year, and this song further proves why he has been getting so much attention. With emotional lyrics over a gorgeous instrumental, Troye continues to kill the game.
