Twitter Reacts to Rolling Loud LA: A Social Media Summary

2023’s first Rolling Loud event was a tremendous success because it wasn’t just any regular festival. Musicians didn’t simply show up, perform and leave. This three-day event was packed with a wide range of highlights that reminded us why hip-hop and R&B continue to reign supreme.

New music, cameos, stunts and drama — Rolling Loud, which took place in Inglewood this past weekend, was a handful. Aside from having one of the deepest lineups in the festival’s history, a few standout incidents made the festival particularly memorable.

Check out the following bird-app reactions to Rolling Loud LA’s major moments:

Lil Uzi Vert premiers 3 new tracks during Sunday set and shows Playboi Carti some love: “Shoutout to Carti, we don’t talk hardly, but that’s where my heart be.”

It is well known by now that Uzi and Carti have a complex relationship. The specifics of it, however, don’t really matter so long as two of the most admired names in hip-hop are on decent terms. Add to that some new music from Uzi and we haven’t much to complain about.

The Alchemist makes a rare appearance during Larry June’s set to rap

Most people know the Alchemist as a veteran producer who has made beats for some of the most iconic names in hip-hop. A little-known fact about the legend, though, is that he got bars too … not too many, but he got em! Props to Larry June for using his set at Rolling Loud to remind the world that the Alchemist is more than just one thing. Stay tuned for their collaboration album dropping on March 31!

Ice Spice performs to a packed crowd

The numbers speak for themselves. In recent months, no one has endured more hate than Bronx rapper Ice Spice, but she only fed off it and bigger. Her performance at Rolling Loud put her popularity on full display, leaving her critics with very little to work with. The people have spoken so … sssh!

Don Toliver brings out Justin Bieber during Saturday set

Still on a high from the success of his latest album, Don Toliver played one of the most electrifying sets in Inglewood. It just kept getting better, so when he brought out Justin Bieber to perform “Private landing,” the crowd completely lost it. We don’t blame them — the reaction was certainly prompted.

Nicki Minaj makes a cameo appearance at Lil Wayne’s show

The undisputed queen of rap Nicki Minaj joined her former mentor Lil Wayne on stage for one of Rolling Loud’s biggest moments. Despite a bumpy performance that was blemished by mishaps by the audio team, the performance was still a historical moment for those who grew up when Young Money had a stronghold on the game.

Duke Deuce just body-slammed someone on stage at Rolling Loud

Memphis rapper Duke Deuce is nice with the mic, but he got some other skills too. It’s no secret that hip-hop and pro wrestling have much in common, but witnessing a crossover in real time is always a spectacle. We’ve seen Action Bronson clothesline audience members, now wait till you see Deuce 3D slam a fan.

Travis Scott’s set cut short as it hit the curfew

Though this isn’t bad press, Travis Scott’s name has certainly carried a lot of bad luck in the past few years. From the Astroworld tragedy to the recent assault allegations in New York, the Houston rapper simply doesn’t seem to have regular days anymore. In that same spirit, fans were disappointed when organizers pulled the plug on his Rolling Loud as it went past the event’s curfew.

Fivio Foreign misses set on Friday

New York rapper Fivio Foreign was a no-show for his slot on the opening night of Rolling Loud. Though fans were initially upset, he shared a tweet soon after asking his fans to pray for him because he was dealing with some health-related issues. This pacified his supporters, and the community soon got behind him and is now rooting for his wellbeing.
